Eureka! How many times have great ideas come from an epiphany that changes how things have “always” been done?
Take flossing, for example. It’s been around for a long time but essentially not much has changed. You’ve got waxed and unwaxed. Mint, unflavored, and maybe a berry flavor for kids. The floss is in a clinical white box with stark lettering. The major oral care companies dictate the offerings over the years and as oral care professionals, we just go with what is offered and recommend those to our patients.
But what if there was an option for floss that was truly different? A game changer that removes plaque better and in a variety of delicious flavors that patients love?
Dr. Chrystle Cu, the founder of Coco Floss, has created just that. She is a practicing dentist but in her early years, spent significant time doing hygiene and through the years, was able to see the shortcomings of the floss available to us. Not only were they bland in flavors, they could be very damaging to the gingiva. It was an issue that she saw frequently in her hygiene patients and the ripple effect was that patients were less likely to want to floss.
