Is Your Practice IT-Ready for 2020?

Is Your Practice IT-Ready for 2020?

Now that all the hustle and bustle of the holidays have subsided, now is a good time to do a check of your computer needs for the upcoming year. That is why I wanted to bring back a topic I discussed several months ago and that is IT services for your practice.

In 2020, Microsoft will be ending support for a number of their products. The one that might be most important to dental practices is Windows 7 support. That will end on January 14, 2020. Support for several other versions of Windows and Office products will expire in 2020 so it’s important that you are aware and plan accordingly.

That is why it is very important to have a good IT company that takes care of your computer needs. The headlines news is usually about cyberattacks and ransomware and while protection from that is very important, what is also important is the regular maintenance and update of your computer systems.

With more and more offices becoming fully digital, the proper computer systems become critical. It is not enough just to be able to hook up cables and turn on the power. Practice owners need to make sure all their  IT equipment is compatible with the existing dental software and hardware needs. They need to integrate seamlessly and then have the proper back ups and protections so that your office has little to no downtime due to viruses or other computer issues.
