I’ve gotta say, I love how the Nifty Thrifty community has grown over the years.
Thanks to this group, I know for certain that my impact has expanded beyond my practice walls. Even better, I feel as though the Facebook page has become more than a platform for fellow dentists to save their hard-earned money. When it comes to our “mission” or what we’re all about, helping practice owners afford their own startups is one piece in a larger puzzle.
These days, the Nifty Thrifty Dentists Facebook group has evolved into a booming community where dental professionals have profound conversations, small businesses get a chance to bask in the spotlight, and so much more. All in all, I really feel like this group has made a difference in a multitude of lives—for business owners, dental patients, and dental professionals alike—on a level that goes beyond dental bargain-hunting.
That said, I started this group with the aim of simply helping fellow dentists to get the best prices without the markups made by the middle man. And I’ve never lost sight of that initial aim: to help my fellow dentists save money.
Naturally, many of the folks in our community share a similar goal, and I’m happy to have them aboard—like the folks over at Crazy Dental. Along with his wife, Jay has also founded several popular non-profit institutions—not to mention raising nine beautiful children together. Between sitting on the board of several non-profit boards and committees (both national and local), Jay likes to play sports and coach his children’s sports teams.
