Tu David Phu is an award winning chef and contestant on season 15 of the hit show Top Chef. Chef Phu’s mission is to inspire others with his story of perseverance and to bring people together through his cooking. Chef Tu David Phu joins Glenn and Vinh to discuss topics ranging from his love for Pho (Vietnamese Noodle Soup) to how the contestants of season 15 were the most chill ever.

Vietnamese food has a very long history
He has been cooking for years, but still has not mastered some of the skills of his mother and aunties.
He is working currently with food robotics on a project caller “Creator” in San Francisco.
He has a strong desire to bring healthy organic foods at all price points to make it accessible to everyone.
What are the hosts and judges like on the show- they are all very helpful.
Much of the drama on the show is instigated through producers, or due to insecurity of the cast.
Pho ga- heritage chicken is his go to Vietnamese meal
He has a lot of favorite meals in Vietnamese cuisine.
As an immigrant, he experienced a lot of self-shame, but is glad to see people becoming proud of their heritage and culture.

Current projects mostly focus producing food products. He may do some popup cooking experiences occasionally. He is also working on producing a project called “Earth’s Kitchen” for PBS.
